I'm Here Now...

I always say I'm back (when I haven't blogged in a while) then leave again. So this time I'll just say I'm here now. And for now I'm updating my blog. Where have I been? I've been around (Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr). I haven't felt the urge to really blog here like i once used to. I've still been writing and putting things together. I just wish I was at that point where everything came together right and was finally done and perfect so I can present it to the world. But I'll be patient and wait and keep striving till i get there. The first goal right now is my poetry. Finishing a collection of my poems so I can publish it. Then getting back into performing like I used to. Everything else will probably just be on hold (music, songwriting, etc) until I can give it ~~enough~~ the right attention. So stay tuned for more updates. and hopefully some poetry.

I'm still here.

And I ain't going nowhere.

So many days passed by while I'm sitting here making moves for me. Doing all I need for me. Finally coming to that point where I know I cant stop focusing on me to tend to all these people surrounding me when I'm in a place where I'm the one in need and there's no one there. So I'm making moves. Things are looking up for me. I'm hopeful for whats to come while taking things 1 day at a time and tending to 1 thing at a time while on my way to where i wanna be.

Had to let go so much in the passed few weeks including a few contacts out my phone.... myspace (i'm sure i been let that go) and the depending on others to get things done (as far as my music). There just so much I gotta let go that keeps holding me back from my focus. And as time moves on... i'll be moving closer to finding myself.....

So out of the most randomness... I decided to open up Photoshop and try to create a drawing of myself. Being that I've been browsing DeviantArt and I have been seeing many pics made in Photoshop posted on Tumblr. So I've started my first project EVER that actually took more than a quick minute to complete. And this is the sneak preview at my Photoshop drawing of myself from another pic. I'm only half way done. Gotta add some more details. Then I'll fully be a cartoon drawing. But I'm too tired right now to finish. Finish product will come soon......... THEN on to some more designing!!

I finally came to the conclusion to use it for now until new (professional) pics of me come in.

February 21st was the day that I created DanteJ.com (after having the blog for 6 months prior to that). Upon giving the site its own domain and a new name (The Definition of Poetic), The site went under reconstruction (removing all posts previously posted and redesigning in its entirety) then giving a new direction. Since then DanteJ.com (now titled He's So Poetic) has been the place for Poetry, Music & Video by Dante J (me lol) as well as my incite on entertainment, art and other things.

Of course this post was written to be posted on the 21st, but all post was held back as the site was undergoing a few more changes. But now that the site is back up and running, expect more of the same and some new things to come in the future.

From the looks of this. I'm not too impressed about this album. I thought Usher was gonna come with a BIG comeback. But i guess not. Can't blame him fully though when its usually up to the label as to what gets put on the album and what gets released as a single. But smh I see none of these labels learn. 9 of these tracks already leaked & usually when this happens the same thing happens next (no one buys the album) but yet they still push out the album then get quick to blame the artist for low sales and then drop them from a label when it's their fault. Guess that's why music is going in the direction it's going in......................

Two Upcoming Projects (in the works)

So I'm sure if you've been following/reading my blog... you have somewhat of an idea as to what I'm working on. But more details on it.... I'm working on two things, 1 being a book of poetry that I plan on getting published and the other being an EP/Album/Mixtape. The book of poetry which has a few working titles and so far 22 poems already picked out to be included will be my 1st book of poetry. And so far all of the poems are pieces that I have performed or will perform in the future leading up to the release of this book. The EP/Album which has the working title of "Waiting So Long" will be my first music project. So far 2 songs have been completed in studio & 3 songs have been demoed completely. The EP may or may not include these songs but will include somewhere between 5 and 8 songs. No set release dates for either. More on that later...

A week of being 21

So what shall I Blog about? After not blogging for 8 Days. So many thoughts. So many days gone by. A week of being 21. Looking in different directions as to where I'm going. I gotta continue on. Not much has changed since turning 21 but its a new year for me. Still Letting go of the people I dont need around. Focusing on ME. Cause I gotta do this for me. I've learned that its necessary to focus on me before anyone else cause focusing my time and energy on others who doesn't take the time to focus anything on you in return makes no sense. Especially at a time like this when so many things are weighing in on my shoulders. I HAVE to keep doing me. And in this week I've gotten some what more of an idea of what I'm gonna do to get where I wanna be and it starts with a single step. Now on to getting back to my poetic ways.

I know I haven't blogged in a while... idk blogging just aint the same anymore... sometimes it just seems pointless to blog anything when people wouldn't take the time to read and give feedback to what I'm blogging about... so I guess I just post the simple & quick posts that I know will get looked at and not care for feedback cause it isn't anything special from me. Other times I'm back at not caring who's looking and reading the posts... cuz this is my place to express what I want and to show things that I want shown and if it so happens that someone's reading or checking out something on my site and give feedback that is appreciated. Blogging is something I definitely enjoy and i hope to be able to bring more of my poetry, music, performances in the future.... so on to what this blog post was suppose to be about.

1 month on the way out the door of 2010.... damn how time flies!! Didn't the New Year just start. Cant complain much at the way things are going. Things are looking up. January wasnt too bad. Though I wish I was starting another semester at St. John's like I'm suppose to have been but i gotta go with the cards I've been dealt. School will come at a later time. Right now its about making the moves needed to get me back where I need to be.

Things I look forward to in February - My 21st Bday another year here plus another step closer to where i wanna be & of course Black History Month!

I hate when people sit and say things and have no idea what the hell they’re talking about… ok Aaliyah was a great artist and her career was getting even better but for people to say “oh some artist wouldn’t be what they are if Aaliyah was still here” and to say where Aaliyah’s career would be now if she was still here and all those other predictions when in reality YOU WOULDN’T KNOW! the answers… its kinda sad… maybe she would be running the game… maybe she wouldn’t. all that matters is… is that she would still be making good music and giving us more of what she loved to do!

but she’s gone… so we’ll never know… =(

Random Thoughts: 2010 is here. I'm ready to get this year off to a better start than last year! Though it never feels like a new year for me officially until Feb 1st (my bday)... this period of time always feels like the time I need to myself. I feel like I need to take this time and be reflective and contemplative without contact from anyone.... So I think about letting my phone go off for a while and being online less... to get focused on me!... who knows what I'll do... its just a thought.... as I think about where I'm headed in my future

Year-End Reflection of 2009

[Nine] represents the highest level of change so I definitely look at 2009 as the year of change. So many things happened and almost everywhere 2009 wasn't a good year. But for me it was about learning and growing. I've excepted the mishaps of the year but there's no reason to let this hold me down.

It all started with me being prevented from registering and continuing education at St. John's University. All because my financial aid didn't come through. All the while being told all my documents were processing with that date never came and ended up causing a bigger issue (in me having to pay a full semester's tuition (13,000+) on my own). Resulting in my being unable to return to or transfer unless this is taken care of.

This was the year that I was getting focused 100% on my music. I was putting together my 1st project in studio with the help of two producers... what went wrong? My mind wasn't right! with having to deal with all this mess with my school and with all the reschedule's and missing sessions... guess that's done.

And of course this thing with the economy! This was not the best year for me at my job... and having to try to find a substitute until they got it together... wasn't easy.

Feels like I'm on a long journey going in circles.... and I aint even going nowhere....

[TEN] represents "Rebirth". And I expect, now that I've seen what I've seen and learned so much that I can continue on this path to where I wanna be in 2010. All the things from these past few years leads up to this! Musically I'm ready to do it all on my own if it doesn't work, working with producers & I have every intention to return to school in 2010! Nothing is getting in the way of that. I have learned all i need... is to do what's best for me (it seems I've lost sign of this). So I'll take it 1 day at a time and not worry about where i'll be in a few years but just on the steps i'll take now to get there!

#3 - Ready (Top 12 Albums of 09)

I usually only like a few joints off his albums but Trey really worked hard to put together this project…. Trey’s taking over… Usher where you at?

5) Man On The Moon: The End of Day - KiD CuDi featuring “Day N Nite” “Make Her Say” & “Pursuit of Happiness” this album was genius! though the singles following “Day N Nite” weren’t as good (or could’ve been replaced with better songs from this album)… kinda underrated… What happened to all the promo?

#6 - Sex Therapy (Top 12 Albums of 09)

6) Sex Therapy: The Experience - Robin Thicke - featuring “Sex Therapy” released in two versions The Session & The Experience (you have to listen to The Experience) this is one album not to be passed over! Each song just flows into each other… only problem I find on this album is that there’s too many unnecessary features… this album would’ve been great with just Robin on it.

#7 - In A Perfect World (Top 12 Albums of 09)

7) In A Perfect World - Keri Hilson featuring “Energy” “Turning Me On” “Knock You Down” & “Slow Dance” -UNDERRATED - though Keri doesnt give off that starpower as others in the game…. she did put together a good album making the cross from songwriter to artist.

#8 - So Far Gone (Top 12 Albums of 09)

8) So Far Gone - Drake (we just gonna consider the mixtape as the album since its been treated like one) featuring “Best I Ever Had” & “Successful” - though i wasnt too happy with the songs picked for the EP bcuz my two favorite joints was left off. This was one of the most talked about mixtapes/albums EVER! and this is what skyrocketed Drake’s career to the point we see him on everything now…

#9 - Graffiti (Top 12 Albums of 09)

9) Graffiti - Chris Brown featuring “I Can Transform Ya” “Crawl” “Sing Like Me” & “Pass Out” though the standard edition in comparison to Rated R falls short. The Deluxe is what gives the album the edge… As a whole what makes this a good album is that it is made up of different styles not just sticking to the usual Pop and R&B genre, there’s a little bit of everything on here…

#10 - Rated R (Top 12 Albums of 09)

10) Rated R - Rihanna ~~cant believe this is in my countdown lol~~ featuring “Russian Roulette” “Wait Your Turn” & “Hard” - aside from all the controversy and just focusing on the music… this was an ok album. Rihanna was album to use this experience and create art out of it and as a whole this album can produce as many singles as Rihanna’s last project did.

#11 - Transition (Top 12 Albums of 09)

Album Review: Chris Brown - Graffiti

The album begins with lead single "I can Transform Ya"which features Swizz Beatz & Lil Wayne. Though the song didnt stand out instantly after a while it grows to be a good track for a single. The album follows with promo single "Sing Like Me" and the album starts to pick up. The track is simple and Chris sings without all the effects and autotuned vocals and shows the true talent that he is capable of. "Crawl" (the album's 2nd single) and more of a song that draws from the experience this passed year makes for one of the excellent tracks on this album. Following is one of the supposed singles "So Cold" which again comes from the experience of the passed year dealing with Rihanna. 1 of the songs I think could of been left off the album and replaced with a song from the deluxe edition to prevent two versions so soon.

"What I Do" (the 1st uptempo joint on the CD since the opener) couldve made the perfect 1st single but I'm guessing with what has gone on this passed year... it wouldn't have been appropriate. The song features Plies and is produced by The Runners. The Ryan Leslie produced "Famous Girl" follows and touches on what is claimed to be the relationship between Chris Brown & Rihanna. This makes for the album's better tracks... including a play on other artist song titles. "Take My Time" gives you the "Take You Down" feel from Exclusive and then on to what makes this album good. Chris touches on production & songs meant for any audience and gives you that universal feel of music. You get a feel of different types of genre's and not the usual R&B and Hip Hop with songs like "I.Y.A. (In Your Arms)", and "Pass Out" featuring Eva Simmons along with most of the deluxe version tracks.

The album closes with 3 of the most personal joints for this album "Lucky Me" "Fallin Down" & "I'll Go" which touches on what Chris Brown has gone through and has to go through after the events that has taken place with Rihanna. This also makes for another strong part of the album. The Deluxe Version tracks and bonus tracks left off is what would've made this a perfectly great album without there being 2 versions so soon. "Gotta Be Ur Man" "For Ur Love", "I Need This" & "I Love U" featuring Ester Dean (off the Deluxe Version 2nd CD) are stand out tracks that should have just been included on the Standard Edition. Bonus tracks "Chase Our Love" (international) & title track "Graffiti" (iTunes) also should've been apart of the album!

But as a whole the album covers a wide range of variety of genres and comes together as a great album (with all the songs). Standout Tracks: Fallin Down, I Need This, Lucky Me, I Love U, I'll Go, Crawl & Famous Girl. My Choice for follow up singles Famous Girl, Fallin Down & I Love U BUT rumored next singles have been stated to be "Wait" featuring Trey Songz & The Game, "Sing Like Me" and "Pass Out. We'll have to wait and see what the actual direction will be...

Album Review: Alicia Keys - The Element of Freedom

The album begins with a few lines of poetry as Alicia Keys states what the element of freedom is and then the album takes off with the perfect lead track "Love Is Blind". The song itself takes us in a different direction from the usual Alicia Keys song and gives us a new feel with the different effects and backing vocals and chants. Great song to start off the album and set the tone! The Lead single "Doesn't Mean Anything" follows. Although it channels As I Am track "No One" it is still a great song and fits in well following "Love Is Blind". Keys then follows with the 2nd single released, "Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart" which Keys draws in so much emotion and feeling with a whispery vocal arrangement. The song again shows Keys in a different direction and makes for one of the best songs on the album.

The album continues taking you on this ride, giving you this feeling of freedom as Alicia Keys explains dealing with hard times in love, how to deal with the emotional feelings, ways to come out better in the end and risk to take for love on tracks such as "Wait Til You See My Smile", "That's How Strong My Love Is", "Love Is My Disease" and "Unthinkable (I'm ready)" which features backing vocals from Drake. Alicia also goes on with the wishing & longing for love with songs like "This Bed" and "Distance and Time" and then there's the unexpected track "Put It In A Love Song" which features Beyoncé. The song highly channels the usual Sasha Fierce and "Single Ladies" but still keeps the Alicia feel to it and could make for the album's 3rd single. The album closes with "How It Feels To Fly" (which also makes for one of the best songs on the album), Keys brings in the choir to sing in the background and shows risking everything to know the feeling just because and "Empire State of Mind Pt II (Broken Down)" which also touches on coming out better in the end of hardtimes and continuing on with dreams. Though the song does not feature the newly recorded verse from Jay-Z, the song still stands out.

The album as a whole takes Alicia Keys to another level and brings another classic. Stand out tracks include: Try Sleeping with a Broken Heart, How It Feels To Fly, Love Is My Disease, That's How Strong My Love Is & Love Is Blind. My choice for follow up singles would be "That's How Strong My Love Is" & "Love Is Blind". BUT if "Put It In A Love Song" is the actual 3rd singles as rumored then I'd go for "Love Is Blind" following. Alicia Keys perfectly present the personal story of everyone with this album, you are guarenteed to connect with this one.

I've finally redesigned my site with a new look (again) and I am finally starting to blog and post things on here that I want to share with my readers. I think its safe to say I'm back (again ,s>for now,/s>). The goals for this month is just to set up myself for the future I am looking forward to. 5 months to go until April 2010... and things are far from in order to get any music done! Yes I'm still writing songs and looking up instrumentals for this project that I have titled and that I have picked out a few songs to go on this project. The only problem is getting back in the studio to record them... still waiting to work something out with my producers to get back to work but nothing has changed there and I'm going ahead with doing all the recording and mixing on my own!

Depending on how each factor works out will determine when and what project will be released. Right now the decision is to release "The Prelude" if work on any of my music continues to be done solo...

The Prelude will contain 6 - 8 songs or demoed tracks to lead up to the official mixtape/album which will contain 16 tracks ranging in various genres... [more news on that coming as time goes on]

So hopefully things will go accordingly and i can finally get done the 1 thing i am most passionate about getting done and it all comes together the way it should... stay tuned!

Where am I going? Tryna get to my destiny. So yesterday it was a normal day of tweeting... I was watching 106 and park and enjoying the guess until New Boyz were brought it... not hating on them or anything but they just don't make music I wanna listen to and i wonder some times why certain artist have record deals. Well they played New Boyz video featuring Ray J... so i tweeted:

It was no way of me hating on Ray J or anything... I just didnt like that he was on the song with New Boyz cuz they suck... so Brandy responded:

of course i responded back and explained to her... that her & Ray J were some of my favorite artist and of course all the other Brandy fans came to defend Brandy not knowing that I'm a Brandy fan myself and its all love for Brandy & Ray J... Why else would Brandy be following me and be responding to me?

Brandy is 1 of my favorite artist and one of the only true talents that we have left in this industry, she is one of my inspirations and its all love... I still love her...

Im just mad that after all the updates trying to get Brandy to respond to me.. it took for me to say that tweet to finally get a response... definitely not how i expected my 1st twitter conversation with Bran to be like but it is what it is...

I know some time has past since i said the hiatus was over but for a second I had become bored with blogging... and had no inspiration to blog. I'm mostly seeing the same blogs reposted over and over on different sites in my dashboard and havent been having much feedback from my followers (I still love yall though).... I NEED MORE FOLLOWERS! LOL. But if you have happened to read Sorry about the hiatus but im back and Give Me 7 Months you should have a slight idea of whats going on....

So what has changed since then...
1. The issue with my school has not but resolved and it doesn't look like it will be resolved anytime soon.
2. Spring 2010 semester is looking like it might not happen
3. I'm still going for that April 2010 release of my 1st mixtape/album

Whats new?
1. So I havent been in contact with my producers and there is no word on whether or not I'ma return to the studio and work on my album there.
2. I'm just gonna keep writing and listening to some instrumentals until i have about 50 songs done for my album to chose from.
3. The idea for my album ~~which i'll talk about later~~ is something different... i just need the production to be on point with this one...
4. I'm thinking about taking a trip to Georgia and visit my sister... it seems my album will get done alot quicker if i was down there.
5. I have a couple of demos lying around that i'm debating on whether to put a snippet up on the site or not.
6. I partially redesigned the site ~~if you haven't noticed~~

So hopefully this is the beginning of me getting my site back on track... more blogs... more music... more videos... more events... more poetry... more everything... stay tuned!

Give Me 7 Months...

I'll put the music on hold for a sec... and take some time to make moves... AND in 7 months I shall present the world with my first album

Its been a long ass year… trying to throw together an album with scheduling conflicts off studio sessions and college life (and all the stress that comes with that) to all the conflicting production that producers wanna work around an already written song…

I’m drained from all the writing and rushing and trying to put it in inside the studio only to come up with a compilation of songs and not a consistent album. So my goal is to get in tuned with my creativity and create an album that introduces the world to me, that lets everyone know who i am thru my music. And I definitely think 7 months is enuff time (aside from a special date that comes in 7 months ~~and its not my bday~~) for me to create a masterpiece consisting of R&B, Hip Hop, Poetry, Spoken Work, and some experimental shyt i cant even began to explain…

And I’ll take this time now to reinvent myself and get the shyt around me as well as myself…together to get where Im headed.

I've put myself into a reinventive mode... working on me and whats going on with me before i can fully get to where I wanna be. All drawn from my school's error which has put me in the hole about $15,000... so before i can move forward, get back in school and get back to working on music, i need to handle that issue which is taking its time getting fixed... i need something to fix that QUICK...

So the goals are

1. settle the issue with my school
2. to get back in school in the Spring (even if i have to transfer)
3. Release My album/mixtape in April 2010 (updates on the music probably in an upcoming blog)
4. and you know what should follow after the mixtape comes out

LOST IN MY THOUGHTS!!!

SO IM FEELIN THE NEED TO BLOG AT 5 AM.

I CANT SLEEP! That's another reason but mainly I'M REALLY IN A CREATIVE SPACE RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!... AND MORE THAN I EVER BEEN!...

I just wrote half of a song that I'm readying for my full Album... and this song was originally the last track of my EP but it wasnt ready in time but its gonna be ready and will fit in more with this upcoming project. IM MAD EXCITED!!!!! THE IDEAS ARE JUST FLOWING...

CAN I DO 3 PROJECTS AT ONCE??? YES THE FXCK I CAN!!

So I'm just listing the titles of the songs that I've completed or started and ordering the tracklist for each album. Of course I already stated in a previous post the 4 tracks for my demo. Well the next project I'm planning to do contains the full poetic experimental type stuff that I've been thinking about for a while CUZ I FEEL AS THOUGH THAT IS MY SOUND! THATS THE DIRECTION I DEFINITELY WANNA GO IN CUZ THATS WHERE IT ALL STARTED WITH ME... PLUS I WANNA BE DIFFERENT... So far they're 8 songs in the work (which I don't wanna reveal to much about this project just [[YET!]]

Along with that project I wanna do a full R&B/Hip Hop album... containing probably 14 songs including the Demo Songs, some remixes and more R&B, Hip Hop, Rap... music. So Far I have the ideas of all 14 tracks...

Learning To Play The Guitar

This guitar is calling me!! IDK randomly I wanna learn how to play a guitar again and I've already made up my mind that I'm buying this! And then going on to learn how to play of course. I noticed that I love the sound of an Electric guitar and in most of the songs I like that the Electric Guitar is present the reason I like them is the guitar.

So Looking ahead i do want my music to contain this sound and what better way to include the sound by learning and doing it myself. So add guitarist to the list of things I do

KiD CuDi Album Tracklisting

The "Scenelisting" to Kid CuDi's debut album Man On The Moon: The End Of Day was released just days after the release of the albums standard and deluxe edition album design. And Kid Cudi has confirmed the next single to be release will be "Pursuit of Happiness".

Though I am not too drawn to these designs... which are good, but for this album they could've been way better. And as for the 3rd single being "Pursuit of Happiness" I'm hoping this song is a really dope song because I was highly anticipating "Sky Might Fall" (the previous choice) as a single. But either way this album is probably the only album right now that I wanna get without question. And If it is the only album Kid Cudi releases... (it will ~~probably~~ be a classic)

Amerie - Heard Em All (Single Artwork)

I don't know if this is the official cover (as of yet) but it is said to be and was released a couple of days ago. This is some very artistic type of work for Amerie... and kind of took me by surprise... but not by too much with what came out of the video to "Why R U"

Now Amerie is about to release the 2nd single "Heard Em All" before the release of her 4th studio album In Love & War... The anticipation is now there for her (though she doesnt get all the credit and recognition she deserves for what she is bringing to the game). I definitely like her style and the blend with hip hop that seems to be on every album... the world aint ready!

14 Days vs 1 Day

14 Days to get it all together for school // or 1 more day til my EP/DEMO is completing and promotion starts.... hmm Decisions Decisions

But its definitely looking like ima have to put a hold on the studio session and the upcoming performances this week thanks to St. John's University. but I'm not gonna complain... I'll be patient about it cause the more time I take on it the more time I can use to improve on what's already done. St John's issues will probably work itself out in the upcoming week as i get all the stuff they asking for... we'll see what happens...

But as far as the Demo goes... it will contain 4 songs (1. Everytime I Get Next 2 U 2. Wanna See U (Move For Me Girl) 3. Drinks In The Air 4. Untitled Song) each song bringing out a different genre or style. "Everytime I Get Next 2 U" is more on the R&B side. It contains more vocals and notes and different background effects and may include a Rap Verse. "Wanna See U (Move For Me Girl)" (similar to the version heard on the site) is the hip hop/r&b blend song... but containing more rapping then singing. "Drinks In The Air" (the club joint) is the completely Rap Track... containing no sung vocals. Definitely was meant for the clubs. The "Untitled" Track will the preview of whats to come for the album... and i'm aiming to do something on the lines of a poetic feel. This should be released digitally this fall.

But It Was All A Dream...

and everything was perfect

But it was all a dream cuz in reality she's not here

said I was over her,

searched for someone new

and now I'm at this place where she still crosses my mind...

Turn on my music but every song that plays seem to remind me of her...

Everything I'm doing, she started off as my inspiration

so its hard for me to continue on this path that "WE" somehow created.

So I wonder why?

I sit her questioning.

Wanting to fight for it.

But i dont wanna fight no more.

Don't know what to do.... so i just sit here...

Always figured that then wasn't our time,

that she'd come back and we'd be together again.

Coversations start again now...

Wanna See U (Move For Me Girl)

So why not dedicate a full post to this song? (which is currently playing on my site if you havent noticed). The song "Wanna See U (Move For Me Girl)" was writing & recorded in 2007 and was inspired by this girl who is a dancer. I considered this to be my 1st song ever made (not including this song I wrote called "Shawty be mine" which i put together over the "Upgrade U" beat a lil before making this song). It was the first song to be completed and have that almost studio quality feel to it with the non-studio quality equipment i used.

The song started out as two versions "Wanna See U" (which was the R&B Version) and "Move For Me Girl" (which was the Hip Hop/Rap version) before being written into 1 song and coming into this final version which is currently playing. This version was completed June 2009. Feel Free To leave any feedback or request about this song here...

Sleep creeping up

No words

I should be sleeping

But those days never come
I’m back at square one
Having to start over…
In trying to get where I need to be
Maybe thats the reason I cant sleep
or maybe Its just the….

Will the rain storms ever end?

I guess not cuz I'm still here and something is doing everything in its power to pull me back and I'm outta my zone... tryna get back in to that place where I can sort out my thoughts and creatively express whats on my minds through the art that I know best... in music, in poetry, in writing... The rain storms never end and the clouds only block my perception to see thing through... while I stand here on my own...

Happiness is gone again

Im ready to leave, ready to go, ready to escape... this place, this world... I wanna live on the moon away from the craziness, away from the madness... away from it all... just so i can do me... waiting on my time 2 come... but it seems that time will never come.

Everyone's gone away... the one's I thought was here with me... they're all gone away

And Its just me...

And I stand on my own watching the walls close in and the sky starting to fall... waiting on the breathe of fresh air to come and make it all better ... but in reality those hopes and dreams just fade away... so I sit here thinkin... "maybe another day..."

Everytime I Get Next 2 U

Everytime..... everytime.... EVERYTIME! LOL

"Everytime I Get Next 2 U" is the title of a song I wrote. Mostly an R&B track that I added a lil Rap Verse to. Its about that girl that you get so many different feelings around... that one that causes you to lose all control... etc. I recorded the whole song in my lil studio... and went on my remastering and mixing it down phase yesterday which took a couple hours. Trying to figure out that formula used on "Wanna See U (Move For Me Girl) which has the vocals with the beat and not over the beat.... and has all the vocals and background sounding clear (without the use of an Equalizer or whatever you call them things) but yeah i think its done... I Like 90% of it... of course there is room for improvement.

"Everytime I Get Next 2 U" is as of now will be my 1st official released single and will be rerecorded in the studio over a different beat.

Addressing The Current Situation

Of course I'm back at the same place as it seems but (not to make this a long story) I'm back deciding between music & school. The thing with the whole college thing is that I was forced to take last spring semester off because St. John's decided they wanted to not use my updated documents (which was the same ones they accepted the year before) which caused my Financial Aid to be taken away... and now they want $13,000+ out of me... So I go and discuss everything with them and they act like everything is good... (lets not mention how they all of a sudden dont have any of my records in the system) but they just tell me bring in the documents again for this year, fill out the fafsa and see about a private loan for the 13,000... ok... im in the process of doin all this......

But why even risk it to have another 13,000+ pile up on me... i do wanna transfer but I kinda ~~Love~~ St. John's... but i'm just waiting for something to go wrong with them... and for them to say I cant register or something.... cause I know thats what they gonna say... but I'm just doing all this to see if the possible is there for me to attend this fall... And of course there is my [MUSIC] which the final sessions are coming up and then off on promo and stuff and shows set to be in motion when the record is done... so hmmm... DO I TAKE ANOTHER SEMESTER OFF.........

As far as the music goes... I have come to the plan to do a 4 track demo before my first full album/mixtape... and with those 4 songs... I'll do some promo... create a buzz and then proceed with the full project and this will all be starting in the next couple of weeks following the next studio session which will finish up the 4 songs and leave some joints to be finished up when i go back. More Updates on releases coming soon....

Just A Thought: "Oh You Famous, Now You Act Like You Don't Know Nobody"

So Yeah I'm grinding... and as hard as it is right now to get where I'm headed... I'm definitely not giving up! I'm already setting goals and making plans for what's to come and all the negativity that people are bringing near me and all the non-believing... i definitely don't need!

and when I've made it... dont come at me with that "Oh You Famous, Now You Act Like You Don't Know Nobody" shyt cuz fact is NONE of yall are here with me thru this grind!! .... and to the few that are THANK YOU! nothing but love and appreciation for yall! AND IF YOU DOUBTIN which 1 you fall under... you kno its the 1st! REAL TALK

So thats what I posted on my facebook status... I needed to get that off my chest... it was too long to twitter! But thats the mood I'm in... So many people surround me... but none of them are there. I can count on probably 1 hand the people I can depend on... and who are there for me... AND I'll be watching when it all comes together... how people will have changed

The Whole Blog World Goes Crazy Over Drake

Ok I'm sure everyone has heard the news that Drake reinjured his broken ACL or whatever it was smh... But Damn these jokes about how he's gonna be Jimmy (the character he played on Degrassi) in real life is sad and not funny at all... I'm guessing most people didnt comprehend that he wasn't suppose to be performing at the concert anyway but he did because he aint wanna let fans down. Everybody just wanna make fun of the situation because he could be in a wheelchair for the rest of his life as he was on the TV show Degrassi...

And that's the world we live in...

people would rather focus on the funny about situations or (in other situations) the mess, the bad, etc instead of the realness or seriousness of a situation... and thats a damn shame...

Welcome To He's So Poetic

So 10 Dayz have passed since I put my site underconstruction... deleted posts and sort of redesigned the site... while the redesigning is still incompletion... I couldnt wait any longer with blogging and posting updates.

So where do I start?

1) For those of you joining me for the 1st time...

Welcome to DanteJ.com | He'sSoPoetic. I am the writer and creator of this blog Dante J (clearly) and this site is currently the home of my thoughts (most of em... i do have another place for thoughts) my music and everything I feel i wanna express to the world. I do consider myself an artist... I like to express myself through many things including poetry, music, art, photography etc. Hopefully as time goes on I'll be able to share more of that with you, through this site.

2) Whats to come on He's So Poetic?:

Well of course you'll get the latest updates with Dante J's music, I'm also planning to keep the site Poetic, so I might post up so words or thoughts from my poetry book. I'm also planning to get back to performing at open mics and hopefully some video post will be up. I'll try to stray away from posting stuff that EVERY blog is posting unless my incite is needed.

3) What's going on with Dante J Music?:

So yeah the process is taking time... I'm not in no rush. Though I have a couple of joints completed and I've been promising a release of a single for a while now... I'm gonna hold out on putting anything out till it all comes together. I'm still in the process of creating "Dante J's" sound! With so much exploring of different genres and everything but its starting to come together and soon the way I want my music to sound when I present it to the world will be here.... sorry to keep you waiting so long...

4) Meaning behind the title of blog...

Well I renamed the site from The Definition Of Poetic to He's SoPoetic... even though both suits what this blog will become... I felt He'sSoPoetic states what I am.

5) Behind The currently released music

I have leaked some tracks that I recorded across the net... they were just songs i wrote and did about 2 years ago when i was just starting out. (far from the direction i wanna take my music in)... but i still record them just i case i feel the need and want to pass them to other artist to record.... "Wanna See U (Move For Me Girl)" (the currently playing song) is a song written in 2007 and currently updated. So far its the only completed, studio quality song that I've done on my own using someone else's instrumental. I feel this song shows what I am capable of but doesnt stop at where I am headed musically.

6) Last Thoughts:

Yeah I don't want this post to be too long cuz i know some people dont like to read much nowadays but yeah Welcome back to He's So Poetic. More updates to the site & post coming soon...
